RE: Assembly Bill 849

Dear Governor Schwarzenegger:

As a pastor of a church which attempts to honor the bible as God's revelation of Himself, I appeal to you to veto the Gender-Neutral Marriage Bill.

Not only does this smack of repudiation of biblical literature, but it seems to me that it is an attack on the foundation of civility which has helped to hold western civilization together for the last couple thousand years.

On March 7, 2000, the State of California overwhelmingly voted (in Proposition 22) to determine that “Only marriage between a man and a woman is valid or recognized in California.” Where does the legislature get off thumbing their noses at the voters?

As I look at nations which have already established such a law (Canada, The Netherlands, Spain and Belgium), or the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, I don't want our State or Nation to be heading down the same dubious path leading to anarchy and deterioration.
